The Rice 360° director of communications is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive communications and marketing effort to enhance visibility of our programs, expanding the Institute’s audience and prominence and increasing donor support, particularly for the NEST360° initiative.

The ideal candidate has extensive working knowledge of the use of communications platforms to generate awareness, galvanize resources, build partnerships and influence systems change for global health and development issues in the global south, experience with strategic communications to support engineering education and innovation programs and/or maternal, neonatal and child health programs, and experience working in a multi-cultural environment .


The Rice 360° administrative specialist will support various administrative functions for the institute, including implementing day to day business and administrative activities; executing special projects, with analyses and reports; planning and implementing events, such as training workshops, conferences, and fundraising activities; coordination of domestic and international travel, as well as communication with overseas based staff regarding planning and logistics; processing of purchasing card transactions and other duties as assigned.

RICE 360° NEST Database Administrator

The Rice 360° NEST database administrator will design, develop and manage a large, complex database for NEST360° to track, improve and report on program work-flow and impact. They will create and manage REDCap databases; conduct regular checks on newly acquired data; develop and maintain internal data publications; and respond to general data requests from internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate would be experienced in administering, maintaining and reporting on a robust REDCap database associated with long-term multi-institution, multi-country clinical research projects, including adherence to HIPAA compliance for data storage and sharing.


The research technician will be responsible for the daily operation of a semi-automated COVID-19 testing workflow. They will set up and operate laboratory equipment, prepare materials, perform experimental procedures, record and consolidate research data, and execute planned research activities related to the LAMP @ Rice study. They will work in a fast paced and challenging environment and be a part of the mission to keep the infection rate on the Rice University campus at a manageable level by quickly identifying probable COVID-19 infections as a part of a campus population surveillance research study.
