Job Title:  Rice 360° Communications Internship

Job Overview:

Work on an exciting project with the Rice 360° Institute for Global Health (Rice 360°) Marketing and Communications team on a brand perception study for NEST360°. This is an opportunity to gain experience in the international development sector and work on a project that will engage with industry leaders in maternal, neonatal and child health across the globe. We are looking for a student in their junior or senior year with a marketing, communication, or business background who can help design, implement, and analyze a multi-partner survey to seven key target audiences using survey monkey or other survey tools. Knowledge and experience using survey monkey and designing surveys is preferred.


About NEST360°

NEST360° (Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies) is an international alliance of clinical, technical, and public health experts who have joined together to work with governments to end preventable newborn deaths in hospitals across Africa. NEST360° established an evidence-based, health-systems model to assess, implement, sustain, and scale affordable technologies and health services to improve the quality of newborn care in hospitals. The NEST360° model enables countries to meet newborn survival targets by improving outcomes, saving newborn lives, and empowering the medical workforce of the future. By the end of 2020, NEST360° engaged with a total 65 hospitals across four countries, with NEST devices installed in 34 of those hospitals.


Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with Rice 360° branding team to design a multi-partner survey

  • Organize the contact list to receive the survey

  • Manage the survey distribution and response collection

  • Analyze data using survey tools in survey monkey

  • Create a report in PowerPoint to present survey results

  • Create data visualizations for presentations and other digital media



Junior or Senior undergraduate in marketing, communications, or business major


Required Skills:

  • Survey Monkey software

  • Quantitative survey design

  • Qualitative survey design

  • Survey logic

  • Microsoft office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience receiving and implementing feedback
